Bothnia Line Railway

Sweden

Description:
The Bothnia Line is a high-speed railway line in northern Sweden. The 190 km (120 miles) route carries trains from Kramfors airport via Örnsköldsvik to Umeå at speeds up to 250 km/h (160 mph). The Bothnia Line has about 25km of tunnels and is located 550-800km north of Stockholm along the Baltic seacoast. Project specifications were extremely stringent, with zero pollution and ground water contamination allowed. A PVC membrane was not feasible due to a lack of space.

Products Used:
A special PENETRON ADMIX Enhanced Shotcrete (PAES) was developed for this project. The results were carefully evaluated and the application was a complete success, with even a previously severely leaking construction joint remaining completely dry.
